Enjoy 20 miles of primo singletrack on one of the Arizona Trail’s finest sections.
This is an out and back mountain bike ride with fun downhills, challenging climbs and some technical rock crawling segments.
Stop in one of the Colossal Cave campgrounds for a break. There is water and a bathroom in the park also.
The start area at Gabe Zimmerman is perfect for large group gatherings.
“The Arizona Trail at Gabe Zimmerman is a real gem. This is an awesome, scenic ride great for newer bikers and kids as it is not very technical. I don’t care who you are, this is a fun trail. Start at Gabe Zimmerman, and take it south as you will get some decent climb. Enjoy sweeping desert views all over. For those of you who are advanced, go north to Pistol Hill under the three bridges and enjoy some very technical, yet scenic climbs. I prefer starting out at the AZ Trailhead at Hwy 83 and Sahuarita Rd. Park there and you can go north or south. Vail Steakhouse is only 15 minutes away and is a very authentic part of Tucson that is only about 15 minutes away from either trailhead. Great breakfast as well.”
